Overnight Chia Seed Oats

Overnight oats are so versatile. You can add pretty much anything to your oats: nuts, spices, nut butter, berries, chocolate, etc… Below you’ll find a plain recipe for the overnight chia seed oats with two different options to spice it up: Peanut Butter Banana Overnight Oats and Double Chocolate Overnight Oats. You can even combine the two for a Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana version.

Overnight Chia Seed Oats 

Serves 1 

Ingredients

Plain: 

  • 1/2 cup of oats (Or use the leftover oats from making oat milk) 

  • 1 cup nut milk 

  • 1 tbsp plus 1 tsp chia seeds 

  • 1 tsp maple syrup

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon


For Peanut Butter Banana Overnight Oats:

Add:

  • 1/2 banana, sliced

  • 2 tbsp peanut butter 


For Double Chocolate Overnight Oats:

Add:

  • 1 tsp cocoa powder

  • 2 tbsp chocolate chips

Directions 

  1. If using peanut butter, smear it on the sides of a mason jar. Then, add all of your ingredients to the jar. Cover, shake, place in the fridge and let sit for at least 3 hours. Enjoy in the morning for breakfast, as a snack or for dessert!
