Chocolate Chip Nutella Banana Bread

This banana bread is so delicious. It’s definitely more of a dessert, but I still eat it for breakfast… So chocolatey you’re going to need a glass of milk. If you’re feeling adventurous and really want to treat yourself, spread some creamy peanut butter on your slice. You won’t be disappointed.

Chocolate Chip Nutella Banana Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 4 ripe bananas (one reserved for the top)

  • 2/3 cup cane sugar

  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • ¾ cups chocolate chips

  • ½ cup Nutella

  • Brown sugar (for topping)

 Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease a bread/loaf pan.

  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

  3. In a larger bowl, mash 3 of the bananas with a fork. Mix in the sugar, vegetable oil, eggs and vanilla until combined.

  4. Pour the flour mixture into the bowl with the bananas and mix until combined. Mix in the chocolate chips.

  5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Then, drizzle half of the Nutella onto the batter in the pan. Using a knife, gently stir the Nutella around. Pour the remaining half of the batter into the pan and repeat with the remaining Nutella.

  6. Slice the fourth banana into about ¼ inch rounds and arrange them on top of the batter.

  7. Bake for 50-65 minutes, until golden brown and a knife comes out clean when inserted in the middle.
